I entered this field wanting to more deeply understand myself and others, and my education was strongly Adlerian and in family systems. Family of origin work continues to be a passion of mine, understanding the patterns and roles that we can automatically repeat or conversely change with insight and support.. Through my own work and support from others I continue to gain clarity around my experiences, some that have been painful and difficult. I strive to support others in self reflection and change.

In my early career I spent years in the substance use / addiction field and also doing the related work with the related trauma and complex trauma. I continue to enjoy this work.

More recently I have started to focus on perinatal and postpartum mood and adjustment, along with fertility related issues and birth trauma and processing. I feel strongly that my clients need and deserve care in this area, and I work to be flexible and accessible. As a parent of 2 young children myself I understand at times the greatest challenge is to connect to the support we need when prioritizing everyone else. I also understand the stress of parenting young children, particularly in these difficult recent years.

My education is from UBC (BA) and Masters in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago Illinois. I have training in EMDR, CBT, DBT and various other modalities.

I understand that connecting with a therapist can be overwhelming, and I aim to collaborate with you on what it is that would make counselling as beneficial as possible. I use empathy, intuition and sometimes even humour to ease this relational process.
